ABOUT US
OUR HISTORY
The CCC was founded in 1952 by Ed Scoggins, who was working at the Helping Up Mission and wanted to start a ministry in West Baltimore that would focus on reaching children with the gospel. He and the Helping Up Mission purchased a home with a big yard and 10 rooms and turned the home into a building suited for ministry. In the 1960's under the leadership of Betty and Charlie Horn, the ministry expanded to reach out to the mothers of the children who attended. In the 1990's a weekly Bible study for men was started. In 1991, the ministry became independent and was renamed the Christian Community Center. Over the years the center has stood as a lighthouse of love and hope to thousands of children and their parents. This ministry has been possible only through the faithful giving of many individuals, families and churches. In addition to financial support, friends of the ministry volunteer as Christian Teachers, Helpers, and Mentors.
OUR MISSION AND VISION
To see children and families come to faith in Jesus Christ and live in a way that pleases Him.
